The GE GWF, MWF adapter can be used to adapt your refrigerator filter from the MXRC, FXRT, FXRC, HXRT to the newer and improved GE MWF water filter. If you currently have a MXRC, HXRT, FXRT or FXRC canister filter, this GE Filter Adapter can be used to adapt your refrigerator to the MWF filter. This GE Filter Adapter and the GWF filter will require more room (about 1-2 inches) than your existing filter. If your top shelf is positioned very high, you may want to purchase the MXRC instead of converting. The adapter is a one time purchase and does not need to be replaced every 6 months like the MWF filter. If you currently have the GWF Filter in your fridge, which has been discontinued, you DO NOT need to purchase this adaptor.
